Are you looking to buy BPA Free baby bottles in Malaysia? What does it means by “BPA Free”? It means it’s free of Bisphenol A, a chemical that makes hard plastic, which makes about 95% of baby bottles in the market. If you want to know more about this chemical BPA, you may visit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bisphenol_A.

There are few brands for BPA-free baby bottles here in Malaysia such as Avent, Dr. Brown, Nuby, The First Years, Safety Plus, Evenflo, Tommee Tippee, Babisil, Bumble Bee etc. Which brand do you use for your baby? Well, the popular one in Malaysia is Avent. Avent BPA free is more commonly available at most major baby stores. Back in 2008, you’ll have to buy it from UK or USA.

  • Shaped for stability and comfort, its waisted shape is easier to hold and its wide-neck design makes filling and cleaning easy. Clear markings on the bottle ensure accurate measurement and make it easier to determine how much baby has been fed. The dome cap seals the teat securely, to ensure leakproof mixing and travel without the need for separate sealing discs.
  • Supplied with slow flow silicone teats

Does Avent BPA Free bottles leak?

Do you encountered any leaking problems on the Avent BPA free bottles? My sister been using it for her baby for months. No problems so far. I believed those who encountered the leaking problem is due to not closing it properly. You should also use the bottles with Avent silicone teats as leaking may occured if used with other brand’s teats.

Where to buy Avent BPA-Free baby bottles in Malaysia?

You should be able to find it at baby stores such as Jusco, Babyjaya, Kiddyplace etc.

I am using Avent BPA Free 9oz bottles for my baby feeding. However I always get frustrated with the bottle leaking. Most of the time when I feed my baby more than 1oz milk leaked out and wasted. Please advise. I bought the bottles from LittleWhiz.com 2 months ago and I am using the Avent teats as well for my bottles. I tried as advised to ensure the teat are wet and not to screw the sealing disc too tight, yet still the problem occurs. Been thinking of changing.

In the past, I’ve heard of the leaking problems of avent BPA free bottles/teats. I’ve also heard that the leaking problem had been solved. I’m not too sure abt this, but if there is leaking problems to the bottles, you can bring it back to the shop and asked for service/replacement. The retailer should pass the bottle back to the Avent distributor “Kinderdijk” for service/replacement.

There are actually 3 valves at the teat. Try align at least 2 of the valves under the fins of the white plastic ring cap.

I’ve xperience the same prob. i bought 4 bottles n only 1 in gud condition.. another 3, what a waste of money… i spent almost $200 n only 1 bottle can be used. i’ve tried all the tricks but still its spilled on my baby shirt. even i bought the new teats!! still not solve the problems… So, i simply put it aside n buy another normal brand that claimed bpa-free.. hopefully, its really bpa free

I ever noticed that people mentioning the leaking problem few years ago, i didn’t take it too seriously until recently. I have been using Avent (bought in Singapore)for more than a year (4 bottles), and find no leaking problem at all. Recently i bought 260ml bottle at Jusco, JB. That is a start for me to face this problem. I tried, really tried to close it PROPERLY! But ended up with my son wet or my bag wet! That is really annoying especially when you are running for time.

I have the same problem with the teat. I have been a loyal Avent customer for 6 years since my elder son was born.

When I started using the Avent bottle 6 years ago, the quality of Avent products were excellent, no leaking problem at all.

I realised the problem came after it change to Philip Avent. The teat was not only leaking, the teat also turn to “blur” within few weeks of using.

I have been trying to change the bottles few times, hoping the quality will improve but facing the same problem again and again until I’m so fed up and give up. Now I’m buying Evenflo BPA free bottles at a much more affortable price and no more wetting my sons’ shirt.

I was faced with the same leaking problem with my Avent bottles. I have found the solution and it has stopped leaking. All you have to do is place the screw with teat on the bottle. Turn the screw anti-clockwise until you hear a “click” sound. Then turn it clockwise until it is tight.

This will end your leaking nightmare!

    Try it.

i am a first time mother and my sister gave me the Avent pump (with 2 bottles) as a gift after i delivered.i experienced the same leaking issue*sigh* and this is very frustrating because i have to change baby’s shirt very often!!earlier my hubby said the sterilization process maybe the caused to the leaking problem,so we bought a new teat(he said there should be a chemical reaction especially on plastics when we heat the bottle)..but still facing the same issue..after reading the above comment, now i know that this is not about the sterilization etc..its the product itself..i will inform hubby!unfortunately…few days ago, my hubby bought new Avent BPA-Free bottles.its not one..not two but three bottles!!he got it right that it is about time to change the bottle but made a wrong decision to buy Avent!again..

Hi, does anyone know what is the different between old bpa free bottle (honey color) and new bottle (transparent) ? some said honey color is harder but easily crack .. but more expensive. New bottle transparent, softer, but cheaper. Then why should we buy the honey colour bottle ? confuse.

With malaysian government banning BPA next year ,the price of these bottles will shot up.
Wonder where we can buy a cheapers ones.
    Any idea?

Hello, I am now confused wether the older version of AVENT PHILIP bottles are BPA -FREE or not. I bought it since year 2009. Can it still be used? I have doubt on it because the older version doesn’t indicate BPA -FREE on its box.

Need your advice and answer, please.

    Thank you

    hi Chin,

I tot the newer version should be in honey color instead of transparent. i saw another version is smokey transparent (not totally transparent). i think total transparent is no longer sold in the market. honey color are made by PES and transparent are PP. May i know what are the difference between these 2?

    dear all mums
for info leaking problem is solved with the adapter ring, ensure ring is attached to prevent leaking.
    check website for picture
The two piece anti-colic system consists of the AVENT Nipple and adapter ring. As your baby feeds, the unique skirt on the AVENT Nipple flexes to allow air into the bottle instead of your baby’s tummy. Like natural breastfeeding your baby controls the milk flow.

Mine 2 bottles leak badly. I found the earlier version last much longer. I have been using it for more than 4 years for my children, but recently the rather new bottles had started to leak seriously despite it come with an additional rubber cap. I have close it tight and dont shake hard, plus never change to any other tit, but doesn’t help. Also, the tit and the holder surrounding was full of small black dot/stain, despite thorough wash and brush with Avent bottle brush. Anyone had the same prob? (p/s: I no longer add cereal to this bottle which cereal was tought as the culprit to all the black stain)

The Avent BPA Free bottles that we have bought esp the 260ml(9oz) is leaking regularly(even with the AVENT teats)

we have 9yr,5yr and 18months old all been exposed to this brand.
The leaking has been experienced in the last 6 months and we parent have little assuarance now of AVENT’s claims as premium feeding bottle brand.

    Look forward to some feedback.

    happy new Year2012

I purchased multiple products from them, their bottles, set of 3, sterilizer and bottle warmer. All philips. after 2 days, I saw some blue paint in my baby’s hand, started searching and was shocked to find that most of the paint in the bottle had wiped off, not sure if and how much my kid has consumed this. I gave them a feedback of this, being a big company which portrays itself as a conscious company would take note of it. but all I received was an email that said someone will get in touch with me in next day or so (not autoresponder). Its been over a week, no one called. Since this incident happened, I purchase Medela bottles and I am pretty happy with it, slight costly but worth considering no harm done to your kid.
